Having your own bitcoin wallet is the starting point of being a bitcoin user and a participant of the bitcoin economy. A bitcoin wallet allows you to manage the bitcoin you buy, receive it from others, as well as spend it.
In the next few sections, we will go through the steps necessary to set up a free bitcoin wallet provided by Blockchain.com. We will also go through all the critical steps of securing your wallet and funds.
IMPORTANT: To avoid risks of phishing and hacks, it is recommended that you perform the steps below on a secure network. Avoid using free public WiFi at cafes and airports when setting up or accessing your wallet. Performing the steps below whilst connected to a secure home WiFi is best. If you’re out at a public area, it is advisable to connect to your password-protected smartphone hotspot or data connection where possible. Being slightly paranoid is a good habit when it comes to dealing with wallets and online transactions.

Follow each of the instructions carefully and completely to ensure that all security requirements have been fulfilled.
